Inspiration:

Part of the purpose of this blog is not only to make note of work I'm doing, but to share with you artful discoveries that I enjoy (and to serve as a reminder that I want to get back to making 2D artwork).  Today's discovery is the work of Colette Calascione.  Pictured above is one of my favorites from her recent work, "Lorelei." Because if you know me, you know I have a thing for wearing tentacles on my head.

Check her work out at: http://www.calascione.com/paintings.htm

Spring-Summer (almost Fall) Whoodlets!

Recently finished a few more lightweight "Spring-Summer Whoodlets."  I created the Whoodlet last year based on an earlier design I have been working on - essentially it's a blend of a hood and a scarf for a dramatic yet classic look.  The first line I created were heavier-weight pieces for Fall/Winter - so they keep you warm, yet easily transition from indoors to out. So many ladies loved the idea as a cover-up for performance (or for the actual performance), that I started to create more light-weight pieces and decorative pieces. There's plenty of room for an elaborate headdress or head full of dreads or flowers, and easy to adjust and secure for your own look.   Here is my lovely student Samara modeling "Purrfect Print" and you can see more in my facebook gallery.

It all began with a single whoot...

This blog will be tracking creative processes, product developments, artistic ponderings, and other endeavors pertaining to Owl*Key*Me.  I will strive to update this blog at least once a week, if not more frequently.  This will hopefully be as good for you as it is for me.  Or something like that.
